On We Go

See, if the new Workshop were operational then I could just list my projects-to-be in there, but that's something for the future. And speaking of listing, I have a redesign of the Cartoons page coming up...those giant buttons seemed like an awesome idea at the time, and plus my Blockhead Anicomics need a home.

Anyway, I'll keep it short and catch you guys up with what I'm doing now:

-I animated a segment of Pass My Flash 2, a Newgrounds Collaboration Toon. My part comes at the end, so stay with it til then, eh?

-I am recording voices for Mastermind 3 today, with a few more guest appearances by other people from the Flash and Newgrounds scene who you might recognize...

-I am writing the script for Blockhead, Episode 11. I hope you like the Weevil, because he's once again the centerpiece for Blockhead's actions. It's also less Conscience-heavy, which I think is ok because he's gotten a lot of exposure in the last two episodes and I think he's getting a bit tired of cleaning up the mess.

On the side, Blockhead has a cameo role in ComiX Episode One and has quite a few references made to him in Riddle School 3. Go check those out if you find yourself with a bit of time, won't you?

Valentine's Day Update

It's Valentine's Day today, for those who care. And because I love you so much, I have a couple of updates for you! <3

First, go watch Ani-comic #2. These little mini Blockhead doses aren't difficult to make, so if I get a good response then I might make Ani-comic updates more often. Oh, and remind me to make a page for them some time soon. I keep putting it off for other projects.

Then when you're done, have a look at the latest Racist Vampires webcomic. At least, I thought it was funny when I wrote it. Oh well, it's for the season.

I know, I'm just buttering you up for a lack of any better updates. I'm actually delighted though...all that work on the first Racist Vampires animation has trained me to draw the characters rather quickly and accurately. I used to stumble through the previous webcomics with extreme difficulty, but now I barely have to reference my concept work in order to be consistent.

Mastermind 2!

Well, Racist Vampires was taking long enough (blah blah, we've all heard me complain about it), so I made the sequel to Mastermind. That should get me motivated to finish RV once and for all.

In other news, I provided a level for Brad Borne's Fancy Pants Adventures: World 2. It's quite the sidescroller frolic and definitely worth checking out. See if you can recognize which cartoon of mine the level references ;) That is, if you can find it!

Meanwhile, enjoy the new cartoon! AUDIO UPDATE SOON, I promise.

Insubstantial Update

I'm still grinding away at Racist Vampires. I have a problem where I assign myself something simple to do, and then realizing that doing the project in question will be easy, I make it much more difficult. Well, at least RV will be nicely animated, because that's why it's taking so long.

So in the meantime, here is Blockhead's Christmas homework assignment.

Ani-Comic #1

Just a little holiday piece for you (which has nothing to do with the holidays) while we await a finished Racist Vampires cartoon. Progress is slowed because of the holidays, but that shouldn't be a surprise. Meanwhile I give you an experimental animated comic with accompanying voices. One last taste of Blockhead for 2007!

Starkston Character Concepts

Staring at the same anchor keys for Racist Vampires over the course of two weeks has worn out my poor Swain eyes, so I thought I'd renew my interest in Flash by trying my hand at a few concept sketches of some characters from Starkston Crusade, the series that got me into Flash two years ago (Blockhead was supposed to be a little practice piece to get me ready, but we see how that turned out). Whew, long sentence!

Anyway, here's the roster of each of the three images:
1st - Black Hood, Armstrong, Severance
2nd - Electrikill, Hot Rodney, Alexander Griffin
3rd - Paladin, Kurt Weapon, Axiom

When I finally get to making Starkston Crusade, it will probably not be fully animated. I'll share more with you as I develop it, mkay?

Progress Report on Racist Vampires

I've never animated before adding all character voices to a Flash, so this has been a learning experience for me. Nevertheless I've already collected all the main ones from my voice actors, and animation has begun in earnest. The cartoon is looking nice, and I hope to have some serious progress by the end of the week. I finally developed a Racist Vampires script that I can say I'm proud of, so I really want to do it some justice!

A concept I've already begun to develop is the Workshop. In the Workshop, you will be able to view my progress on current cartoons and also watch fragments of these cartoon as they are completed. That way larger cartoons like Blockhead can be separated into more frequent updates, hopefully every week! Plus I won't be burned out by large projects with a single release date, so I'll be ready to work on the next big project immediately. In total, the Workshop setup will allow me to produce more for the site.
